Default Does exhaust really help out this much?

I recently installed a MAC catback. The sound is great. LOVE it.

But

The power increase was a lot more than I expected. Normally when I would hit the gas the car would pull forward smoothly, with a little hint of bog. Now, it just surges forward with the slightest amount of throttle.

Does exhaust really add a lot of power? Or did I just feel a big increase since I already had CAI, 75mm TB, 75mm Big mouth Plenum and a SCT tune before I did exhaust and I'm just feeling the cumulative effect of having all that with exhaust now? I never really could feel a difference in power with the other mods until now(save for the tune).

Whatever it is,Im loving the car now.

You wont feel any increase of power with a catback...

Placebo effect.

I love the sound of my car, but with just my mid-pipe and catback i didn't notice any difference in power.

Bwahahaa....

Definitely no big power increase though. Maybe 5 hp. I thought the same thing when I got my catback put on, it'll wear off.

It probably just sounds faster. You shouldn't feel that much.

Well it's not that much louder. The reason I was surprised is because I expected no power gain but the car definitly picked up some power.

I come from a world of Ford Probes and RX-8s where exhausts literally do nothing. So I expected 0hp gain but the car really does feel better.

Eh..whatever.
