Default lost power

My car seems a litttle slower than it was about 2 years ago. Everything seems to be running great and maintenance has been kept up with. What could be the cause of this? Sludge? Idk, any advice please?

Just hit 71000 and 2 years ago it had 40000. I drive pretty hard ocasionally. It does seem like less oil is comming out then what im putting in but only by about one quart. How much would piston ring install cost and what else should get replace at this time? So far i only have a K&N installed with air silencer removed.

1)Well one the longer you drive something you more use to it you get thus reducing the excitement level causing it to feel slower.
2) Like everything else, motors deteriorate causing loss of hp. If it is only slightly slower then it's probly nothing just normal wear.

well if youre losing 1 quart of oil that isnt too bad, if its between oil changes.. but if its 1 every week or two.. u might need new rings.. run you about 800 to do it. try putting some seafoam into the oil RIGHT BEFORE you change the oil as in put seafoam in, let it idle for 10 minutes then change the oil... the detergents will help clean it up a little bit.. might help but ur probably experiencing lost efficiency due to normal wear and tear

The plugs are fine i just changed them at 60K. But it just seems like its not hitting 60mph in the advertised 5.8 (vert and auto). Another concern is that it doesnt want to get over 138mph anymore. The rpms are far from redlined, and ive hit 145 about 6 months after purchasing brand new.
