Default How much NA power

How much NA power can you get from a 99-04 4.6L? When I get my GT, I want to try and build it NA as much as possible, first, then a KB and be happy around 450-500rwhp.

I wanna do:
-Fully ported stock heads (I know a machinist)
-Bore over 0.060 and stroke as much as possible (I don't know what the max is)
-Port intake manifolds
-stage 2 cams
(that's just as far as the actual engine goes)

How much rwhp would I be at with that kind of stuff? I'm not familiar with the gains on a 4.6 2v. I'm much more familiar with the 3.8L.

Oh, another question about heads. Are porting the stock heads basically the same as getting Patriot stage II heads or other aftermarket heads? Or is there something different with the aftermarket that you can't get with porting the stock ones?

Thanks

Get a whole forged rotating assembly with a 3.75in crank. That will give you like 303-305CI.

At 450-500, your stock motor won't last very long.

That's why when I build over the whole engine, I wanna do complete forged rods, pistons, rings, and a cast steel crank.

I just wanna know how much power I can get NA and what I'd have to do to do it. Then when I do all that, I'll put the KB on.

I'm a mechanic in training, and tearing apart engines is something I really like to do, I just want some opinions/advice from people more experienced with the 4.6. I already have a whole suspension and suspension setup planned out, I'm just not familiar with what's good for the 4.6 motor.

The trouble your going to have is that in order to get maximum performance N/A you will need to get the compression over 10.5 and that will not play nice with a blower down the road. So unless you want to buy pistons twice, you might want to build it up slowly with the idea of a blower down the road. While you won't have the max hp N/A it will end up saving you $$ and time in the long run.

OK, that's cool. I guess basically what I'm asking is how much can I build the engine NA with plans of a blower afterwards, and what do I need to do it?

Also, if anyone has an answer to my heads question from my first post, that'd be awesome. Cause if porting is the same as aftermarket, it'll be one of the first things I do.

Most companies that offer heads for the 2v's are just porting OEM heads. That's not to say that you can port your own heads and get the same results. Companies like Patriot are using CNC machines and are super accurite, you won't be able to do that by hand.

If you are gonna do FI in the future, don't worry about massive amounts of HP with N/A. Like JD posted, you will need alot of compression for high HP N/A. I am just a tick over 11.25:1 compression and put down 342rwhp and 351rwtq. I am doing some work and will be going for 350+rwhp N/A.
