New here, SCT Question...
Hey folks, been lurking here for a few years now... since 03 actually and own a 2003 GT 5 speed with full bolt ons (including 4.10s which I had changed from 3.73's and which I highly recommend all you 3.73s out there do, you will not be dissapointed!) except a TB&Plennum.
My question is this, I have an SCTXcal and was wondering, besides using it toreprogramming the fuel from 87 to 93 Oct. and recalibrate the speddo after gears, what else can be donewith it to enhance performance and fuel mileage?
Thank you in advance for any repliesand please excuse the newbie question if it comes across as stupid, I'm still new to this modding game (first car I ever mod.)
Sincerely,
Rich

RE: New here, SCT Question...
I'm not sure about this, but I have read that for the different octane tunes, they simply adjust the timing on our cars. In my opinion, I would not go with the 87 tune, instead I'd go with the highest available tune (91 or 93 octane depending on your area).
You can also adjust spark (not sure what that does) and the air/fuel ratio. For example, when I plugged in my car, one of my error codes was the car was running too lean. So I went into the menu and when I loaded the tune to the car, I tried to adjust the AF ratio by making it a few % rich. It would seem like the logical thing to do, I hope I didn't make a huge mistake in doing so.
The good thing about the tuners is that you can check/clear engine codes.

RE: New here, SCT Question...
Thanks for the reply bro, much appreciate it. I have tuned it for 93 but I'm from Montreal Canada and we either have 91 or 94, so I have it tuned at 93 and am filling it with 94. Felt a difference between the two for sure.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Rich
