275 tires or 245
hmmm i just bought 275/40/17's kumho's and i think its going to need the spacer kit..i see some on ebay for like 60 bucks for 2...and they are 1" but i dont know if they are good or whatnot...also does cutting the springs hurt the car?
Supposdly Nittos run small, so putting a 275 Nitto on a 8 inch rim is ok. Normally 275s should go on a 9 inch rim, but it's ok with some tires -depending. Going wide looks good on the front, but pulls the car around pretty good. It's all a personal preference though. Honestly, you're going to get pretty much the same amount of traction with a 245 or 275 DR. 275s look alot better though.
Does anybody know if running a 275/40/17 on the back will mess with the ABS or TC if you leave the front running a 245/45/17. Reason I ask is because they are slightly different heights making the front wheel spin at a different speed than the rear. Some Jackleg tire guy told me it would, but I've never heard anyone actually complain about it.

Holy old thread batman!
There are no negitive effects of running a 275 on the rear ABS wise. You do not need any spacers to run a 275 on the stock rim either (on the rear). I wouldn't think you would need to run them on the fronts either, but it might be possible. I have a 275 up front, but it is on a 9 inch rim with a different backspacing etc. However, there is little/no point in running a 275 up front on the stock rim, the only reason I run them on the fronts is the bullitt rims are all 9 inch and the 275 is the perfect fit.
I ran 275 nittos on the stock rims and they were not buldging at all. Even a regular radial 275 will fit perfectly on a stock rim. I have yet to hear of a single 275 not fitting nicely on the stock rim, regardless of brand.
