Would it be dumb to use your stock short block and buy all new internals? Shortblocks are kind of expensive.
I did use my stock block just had it bored .020 over to fix the scratches.

Well from start to finish it took since october when I pulled the engine. But I took My time and was in no hurry since I have other cars to drive. If I were to do again I would do it in Aug. (end of racing season) where the machine shop wasnt so busy and this would have all taken my just a couple weeks. I picked up the shortblock from the machine shop on tuesday and by thursday its sitting in the car.

Wow, really impressive. Thanks for the time and effort to share the info. As soon as I get a garage I would love to try the same thing

If anybody is interested I am doing a 351w swap intomy 91 gt this weekend. I am going to do another writeup and call it "351w swap for under $1000" and post it in the 5.0L forums.
