Replacing Automatic Shifter

Replacing Automatic Shifter
I am slowly starting to put some upgrades on my 99 V-6 Automatic 'Vert . One thing I want to fix is the stock shifter. Mine is a little tore up, the rubber sheath along the shaft has a tear in it and the plastic at the bottom in the groove is cracked and busted causing the orange indicator to be lodged down below the 1st gear mark. Obviously doesnt affect how it works, but looks like crap.To replace it I am looking at the B&M Hammer Console shifterhttp://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8kbk.htm.# B&M-81001. I knowit wont improve performance other than allowing me to shift myself if I want to. First I need to know ifit is the right one for my 'stang. Says it is for a AODE, 4R70W trans. I know there is a kit is you have a C4 trans... Mine is stock sodo I have the AODE and how do I tell? Does it have the O/Doff switch on it somewhere? Also probably stupid question, but it does work like a normal one most of the time, put it in "D" and go, unless I actually choose to put it in 1st and work it up, right? And finally does anyone know how it looks installed? Betteryet have a pic? All the websites I have seen for it show a stock photo of what I assume is a different model since my current shifter sits in a round hole and the pics are all of a rectangle version. Experience has shown that square pegs dont fit round holes very well.... Other questions, comments and advice on this are also appreciated.
And yes, I am sure soon I will be following up with quesitons about shift kits or other transmission mods for performance.
Thanks in advance

RE: Replacing Automatic Shifter
You would probably get ALOT more info on this in the V6 section as opposed to the 4.6l section! Not alot of people here have the foggiest what tranny the V6 autos have!
