mil eliminators

They trick the computer into thinking you have cats so it won't turn your CEL on. IMO they suck, they don't work at all.
You're better off just getting a tuner.

Properly designed and installed they work fine, I've used my homemade ones for years on all sorts of cars. You will not harm the engine or lose performance without them--you'll just have the malfunction indicator lit...

Will runnin your car with an o/r mid pipe with out the tuner or mil eliminators hurt it, or will the check engine light just be on?

Doesn't the MIL Eliminators trick the computer into thinking the O2 sensors are reading properly, and if you don't have them you're light comes on because they're not reading correctly? Wouldn't this cause your car to run rich/lean or something. If not why are they on our cars..lol.

Each bank has two O2 sensors, one before and one after the catalytic converter. The front one is the one used to control the air/fuel ratio, the rear one is along for the ride to monitor that the catalytic converter is doing it's thing. If you don't have cats (and no MIL eliminators) then the rear sensor output is the same as the front output, thecomputer thinks the cats are bad and throws a code. The eliminators are a passive electronic circuit that reduces the voltage and shifts the phase of the rear sensor output. This tricks the computer into thinking the cats are there and OK.
