Theft system

Default Theft system

What exactly does this do on our cars, Ive noticed it flashing on the dash when the car is locked, but what exactly does it do is someone trys to steal the car?

With my car if you don't open the car with the remote and try to open with the key only it will set the alarm off. I don't know if its the same with others but that's how mine is.

i never use my remote because i only have 1 key, and i always open the door with a key and nothing happens

The factory security on my car doesn't have any sort of alarm siren.. The key has a chip in it that the ignition module senses. If someone tries to steal the car by hotwiring it or punching out the ignition assembly, the car will NOT start
