And before someone eats my *** for implying that shorty headers flow better than long tube headers, that's not what I'm saying. Straight pipes will decrease back pressure, but not enough to cause problems. Ran straight pipes with just glass packs off of a 460 ci Ford big block and I had no problems. But I suggest a nice mellow sound at idle and nice loud roar at high rpm... like with dynamax... or bassani.
The FACT is, TIME and TIME and TIME again, it'll never be proven wrong...the LESS back-pressure you have through your manifolds/headers, the MORE HP you will see. As long as you aren't running open heads, you have NOTHING to worry about. Back pressure is the ENEMY!!!!!!!!!!!! <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0">
Adding Edelbrock shorties to my 3rd gen Iroc-z was a winter project, I even took her for spins with open shorties in 40 degree weather...she went 3 months before I had an exhaust bolted up. Didn't hurt a thing, and never would have.<edited><editID>Dan02GT</editID><editDate>37856.1913888889</editDate></edited>
