Default drag racing question

To all of you guys with a manual trans.
Before you launch do you have your clutch pressed all the way down or do you raise it up to the point where you almost start rolling?
The reason I ask is b/c I've been running horrible track times and I think this may be the reason why. I made a couple of small launches today using the new method and it seems alot better.
What do you guys think?

I'm on the stock clutch. I usually run about a 1.9 60 with bfg drag radials at 15psi. Eibach pro kit springs

Not for the kind of power I'm making it isn't. I should be atleast in the 1.8's and in the 1.7's sometimes!

You are in the same crappy boat as me. Chances are, even if its not really bad, the clutch IS slipping. Its just not made to take that kind of power.

1.9 60's arent that great. With those sticky tires, and a couple of suspension parts, a 1.80 60ft is well within reach, if not breaking into the 1.7's. Yea, its dangerous for the stock rear, but if you want quicker, thats where it needs to be shaven off from.

Remember, I can cut a 1.8 with ET Street radials, 4.10's, a stock 28 spline IRS and 328rwhp.1.7's when I spray. And I'm not a very good driver. lol.

Well I have all the parts to build my rear next to me. I just have to wait till I get back from the beach to put it in.
Whats the best way to tell if your clutch is slipping and how bad could it affect my times?
