Default high idle

when i press in the clutch it revs alittle high, people told me to check for vacuum leaks, i did and still does it. some told me to tap my IAC with a hammer and if the revs go up and down then thats bad, again nothing happened. so i need help i have no idea.

I would say that is pretty normal. I know my g/f's car and my old ranger does it, when I drive down the road and push in the clutch to stop the rpm's go up a little then go back down, It seems like every car that has a stick I have drove does this.

i thought it was just replacing the gasket and it helps your rpms fall quicker and rise quicker...it also helps for idling issues too.
