so i found out that my tie rod is bad...how hard is that to replace. has anyone done it before? should i just get a oem one or do they make aftermarket ones.

 

OEM is fine. There really aren't "performance" tie rods, as far as I know.

As far as replacing it, I personally don't think it's too tough. If you have a car jack and jack stands you should be able to. How good with a wrench are you?
