Default Gear question

Whats the deal about swapping rear gears? I understand the concept, but what is the best ratio for the rear end? my car is bone stock and I am tired of it like that.

puts you in the powerband alot quicker, the ratio depends on what you want to do with teh car really. if you wanna go all motor and dont give a crap about milage .... 4.10 or 4.30

for forced induction, 3.55 or 3.73(lean more towards 3.73)

i have 4.10's and i love em.

once you get the gears for that "bone stock" pony, you will want more. 4.10's are the norm, but you have people who go different routs. These cars are VERY ADDICTIVE when it comes to modding them. You're starting with gears, then before you know it, you will want CAI, Shifter,TB & Plenum, Heads, Cams, Tuner, and then when it's all said and done, you look at it while it sits in the driveway and you want to go out and kick the sh*t out of it because it's still slow. You will never be able to go fast enough.......NEVER!
