Default New mods - will I need a tune?

Hi everyone, I did a search, but didn't really find an answer.

I just purchased an Accufab 75mm tb/plenum, JLT ram air intake, Steeda underdrive pullies, and a VRS o/r x-pipe,I currently have an SSS catback system installed.

Now, with these mods, is a tune neccessary? Will Isee any additional benefits witha tune?

Also, I'm ordering MIL eliminators. Is there a reliable alternative to the Steeda MEs? I'd rather not make my own. I suck at electronic stuff.

Well a tune even on a totally stock motor (premium gas tune)"does" improve things a bit.. so in your case you should feel a difference. Personally I'd wait till I made a few more mods then do the tune.

There are people here who have your mods and don't have a tune, but personally, I recommend you to get a tune. The Tb/Plenum and intake is the main reason why I recommend getting a tune. That's a lot more air coming into the engine than it was before. I'm sure your A/F ratio will be affected from the those alone. You'll pick up a few extra ponies from a tune with those mods.

Thanks guys. I'm really hoping I can hold off on the tune a little longer. I just don't want to hurt anything by waiting.

Yourmom, how long have you been running your mods? How noticeable were your gains? Oh, and definitely post your numbers after your tune. Seeing as our mods are so similar, I'm very curious.

your not going to hurt anything by running your car as it is with no tune. The tune might pick up signficant horsepower, and it might not.The easiest thing to do would be to find a dyno shop that will let you do a few pulls with a/f ratio for say 50-80 bucks, and see what the car is making and how the a/f ratio is doing.

I would have left the JLT intake for another day and got a tuner. The higher octane tunes can really wake up the 4.6 2V, as long aspaying forpremium doesn't bother you...
