the tr33650 finaly busted. for as long as i can remember the 3rd synchro was going bad. from time to time it would grind and then eventualy having to double clutch. when i wanted to go fast i just speed shifted in to 3rd and heard that nice crunch. im guessing now the shift fork is f_cked because i cant get 3rd or 4th even when double clutching. it just pops out of gear and grinds. this trans pissed me off for the last time, im getting a t56 cobra trans. ha im going to have fun with the headers again doh!

 

I would look into either a TKO or a T-56 viper spec. From the reading I've done they seem to be the best choices.

 

yea if you have 8 grand for the viper spec...

TKO's are nice. Look for a used T-56 and rebuild it.

yea i think im going with the 6 speed. i'll try to buy a used one and upgrade it with better synchros and such. isn't there another method of getting the trans out without taking off long tube headers? with my car on the lift it looks like the trans can be maneuvered in/out.

 

I'm curious, your not putting out that much power over stock, are you beating the hell outta your transmission?

 

just speedshifted into 3rd too much with the synchro going out. i think im going with the tko. i dont think the extra gear is worth 1400.

 

t56 viper spec, i went with that one. best purchase i ever made, call D&D trans. they will custom built you one for around 5500.00.

 

my 3rd is griding when i shift in to it as well. what the hell should i do?

 

double clutch untill you get a new trans or synchro. if by grinding you mean it vibrates the shifter and is difficult to shift into 3rd then only double clutch into 3rd-when this happens it is easy to bend a shift fork.
