It is not necessary to sand them down, but you should at least hit them with a scotch pad. Its just a small abrasive pad that is usually reddish in color and available at most auto part stores. Just give it a good one over with one of those and you should be good to go with the paint. Just spray it litely and let it cure before applying coats. Patience equals a good paint job.

if you are painting plastic you should use Krylon Fusion spray paint for the parts you can take out of the vehicle to paint ( because of the overspray). It's made specifically for plastics and actually doesn't need any prep work. It bonds to plastic at a molecular level. It's really great stuff and is good for interior or exterior surfaces. It won't scratch easily if done right and can withstand cleaning.

wrong.... if done right it is as good as any stock piece. i just whiped my pieces down with rubbing alchohol and sprayed 5-6 light coats of duplicolor import spray and then put 3 clear coats on top of that. you have to put a clear so that it protects from scratches.here is how mine turned out https://mustangforums.com/m_3202563/...tm.htm#3202563

I painted mine the same color of my car but I'm not satisfied with how it came out. I did a decent job but I painted too much. I won't dare post any pics. lol

Only picture I have that you can actually see them in. I only did those two because there the easiest to get to and are like dead center in the door. I think its looks good, breaks up the tan some and get its a little extra
