does this effect anything. Because the Ford dealer wants like $200 just to look at it.

It doesnt effet anyhting accept the environment. And emissions testing. I have the code too and need to get rid or it soon for emissions testing. Its also probably a good idea to fix it so that if something more seious trips the CEL, you'll actually know about it.
