Default 93 Z28 AUTO

Ok my friend just bought 93 Z28 auto with over 186,000 miles on it...He serviced the tranny (Changed Filter and fluid) and now it won't shift into overdrive. What could be causing this.

The fact that he serviced the tranny.

Bad idea to change the fluid in a auto after so many miles, it happens all the time. Time for a new A4. 186,000 miles is the problem

For a new one, I think they can be had for around 1300-1400 with a new TC.

Did he accdently unplug a sensor, or even put the trans filter back in right?

go with what dan said. a 4L60E auto should be fairly easy to find, as well as a good deal.

I'm not sure what he done.....We checked everything today, but found nothing....It's really strange.

I hope that car was free...Who would be crazy enough to spend money on a Camaro with 186,000 miles on it??? It's not a Camry you know.

Well my friend it all depends on how the miles were put on the car...The person who previously owned the car....traveled back and forth between Seattle and New York...So about 90% of those miles are Highway miles. The car happens to be in perfect condition....except that problem with the tranny not shifting into Over Drive...My friend also beat an 04 GT today with it....and they were askin 20,000 for it...So i would say it was a steal.

By the way...He only paid $400 for it...Fully loaded with every option...

At 186,000 it really doesn't matter how they were put on. Thats a lot of freaking miles. $400 is close enough to free. But I'm sure you both know better than to believe thats going to be a reliable daily driver.
