Default Engine Swap

Has anyone here swapped out an entire engine or know someone that did? I will have a good chunk of change this summer and am looking into buying a used Mach 1 or Bullit engine off of ebay. I was wondering how hard it would be to drop one of these engines in my 98 gt. If anyone has any ideas please respond. Thanks

Bullitt engines are still 2v w/ a different intake manifold that's only going to see gains in FI applications... Why not pull your motor, do a 5.1L rebuild w/ P&P'ed PI heads and VT stage 2 cams... Sick combo...

ya that would be freaking FAST. but it would also cost more money than just getting the bullit engine... also if u just want more power and u have low miles on ur 98 GT , then just do the PI head swap and ull be as fast as the bullit but spent not nearly as much as it would cost for a new engine... ya if ur gonna buy a new engine, acer is right... do that stuff the right way

I want to make the fastest switch possible. Something that can be done over the weekend, because I still need to drive it. I would love to drop a built 351 in there, but I dont know what all I need besides the engine. Ive looked and cant find any good sites that have info about it. Besides, I think, bang for the buck and sreetability, an engine swap to the Mach 1 would be the best option. Ive seen engines with less than 5k for around $2k. If I can spend that on the engine, it gives me about another $2k for mods.

Heres wat im doing right now, i bought a block that im building when i have money, so far i have forged pistons and cams, im gettin the blcok machined this week, my pi heads are in the car right now so wen the engines done ill pull the heads send them to a shop for a nice p&p then toss the cams in and swap the motors out. You could do the same thing excpet buy some pi heads so when your done building itll be a direct swap.

how about instead of spending all that money on another engine, spend the same amount and get a supercharger and way more hp.
