How many times does your car crank before it fires?
Exactly like the title says. I have to hold my key for about 3 seconds before it finally fires. It never happend before the blower install. It's not the fuel pump because I drove around with it when I was still stock. The plugs are at .035 and the injectors seem to be seated all the way...no leaking.
Any ideas what it could be? It's more of an embarrassment than anything else.

Cranking and "turning over" are classically the same thing--starting,running, and "firing up" are usually the expressions used for what is supposed to happen next (the Brits say "ticking over" happens after cranking)...In any event, my '03 GT usually cranks for less than 1 second (more like 1/2 to 3/4) before starting. Although rarely, whenthe engine'shot and has only been stopped for a few minutes, it will require 2-3 seconds before it fires--I've found this to be a somewhat common issue with many EFI cars...
oops, sorry about the terminology. It's weird because it's never done it before. Hell even after it sat all winter it fired right up.
this is a common problem. nobody seems to know why it happens or wtf the solution could be. it has been posted many times... but the answer has not.
negative, svt focus. I installed the fuel pump a week or two before because I wasn't sure I was going to keep the blower but still wanted to install something (i get like that).
Anyway, it was fine and now it cranks like ten times before it fires.
