Default Speedometer Error

I borrowed a GPS from work and checked my speed.
It indicates 5 mph faster than the car is actually going.

This is a '00 Mustang GT with stock gearing, stock wheels.
It's got Cobra gauges, if that can possibly matter.

Anybody got a clue about this?

Do this... Im gonna give you a link that will tell you how to turn your odometer into a digital speedometer. Compare that to your GPS and see which is correct. If the GOS is correct then take the needle off the gauge and replace it in the correct location. Here is the link...

That's a cool site. Thanks.

BTW, how do you get to the speedo needle?
Sounds complicated, like remove the dash or something.

pull the hadlight switch handle off and take off a couple screws around the cluster and its ready to be unplugged and come off. the clear face unbolts off of the cluster. gotta take it down the road while apart and plugged in to set the speedo needle back on, it just pulls of but pull it off straight with like a fork or something.
