Default engine pre ignition

hey i have a 2001 mustang with alot of intake mods such as manifold, plenum, throttle body, 80 mm mass air kit and accell ignition and was wondering being that my car is running lean would a larger injector stop this pre ignition by makeing the car burn a little richer

i know getting it tuned would solve the problem but im kind of short on money and because of the lack of serious mods i would have to get it tuned again later and i was just curious as to if the injectors would solve the problem for the time being

Technically yes it would solve the problem if you go bigger. But if you go too big it will run too rich. The best thing to do and I can't see how it would cost much more than injectors would be to get a tune. Do it right before you cause major damage or take some of the things off until you have the money to do it right.

i would like to get a tune i ordered 26lb injectors i hope those arent too big in the long run a tune is definitely goin to be needed but i would like to wait until i put a set of heads or a blower or something major before i do that i tried using a diablo tuner and cutting my timeing and uppin my fuel with that but that limits u to what u can too so i pretty much gave up on the diablo tuner when i get it tuned im leaning towards fastlane motorsports a couple friends of mine got their stangs tuned their and were really satisfied this weekend is fun ford weekend and i want it solved by then so im trying injectors for right now i dont think 26lb would be too big yaw think that would work also i might need those anyways to get a decent tune i think those factory injectors are holding my car back by not allowing enough fuel whats yaws opinion on the 26lbs

Your car will probably run too rich now. Just upping injectors will add fuel but it won't be tuned correctly resulting in poor drivablity and other things. I would seriously just take the 80mm maf off until you get it tuned. You aren't picking up big gains if anyfrom it so whats the sense? If you already have a diablo just richin it up a bit and keep an eye on it. Actually by changing your timing and it running too rich would probably hurt the car more than any gain you receive from the MAF.

Get rid of the 80mm maf.You dont need it yet and if you dont have the money for a tune you are going to blow your motor.

Take the 80mm MAF off and put the stocker back on. its the cause of your a/f condition.

How do yuo know the car is lean?

So far as injectors, you cannot just throw in a bigger set of injectors without a retune, all thats going to do is completely screw everything up.
