Default Supercharger question

I installed a 8psi Procharger kit yesterday on my 2004 GT that I got second hand online. Unfortunately the programmer didn't come with the correct tune on it. Is there anything I can do to modify the parameters on my predator so I can drive it safely until I get a custom tune? As far as fuel Its got 270lph aviator pump, 42# injectors, and 90mm MAF. I have driven it after the install without any problems (before I realized it had the wrong tune). It ran fine without any knock or anything.

I guess my question is, am I sentencing my engine to death by driving it? I know it won't run optimally without correct tuning, but shouldn't I be "safe" as long as I keep it under the blowers boost range? Any light shed on my current situation will be helpful.

Thanks

just dont hit boost, if you do try not to be in the throttle hard. a friend blew up his motor a few weeks back when he installed a 10psi procharger and then decided to go out on a canned tune and get on the car hard. when i get mine on im not driving it until im driving to the tuner and even then i will not go over 2000rpm's.

best thing you could do is drive another car for now and get it towed to the dyno shop.

Personally, I would get it towed to the dyno!

If the car starts, runs, and drives normally you are fine so long as you stay out of boost. Just becareful, and make sure you watch the temp gauges etc. Anything looks abnormal then shut her down.

So long as you don't go WOT or above 3K RPM you should be fine though, the a/f ratio etc doesn't get that important till you acutally get into boost, thats where you can blow the motor.

All my temps are fine. The only thing that is a little weird (that I'm not sure if the tune will fix or if it has something to do with my anti-surge valve) is it takes it a while to get back down to idle after I release the throttle.

check for boost leaks... maybe the bypass valve or even the vaccum line going to it... do you have a boost vaccum gauge? if so, what vaccum are you getting?

I don't have a vacuum/boost gauge yet. But I will double check all my clamps and such for vacuum/boost leaks tomorrow.
