Default 2V Buildup thread

So as many of you know I broke a piston in the stock motor. The car still runs and at this point I am still driving it. I have already decided that I am gonna build this into a pump gas beast of a 2V. The car is gonna get longtubes, cams, a built shortblock, and maybe a few more pounds of boost!!

Already purchased:
CHP shortblock. 5.1L stroker (thanks again to Ethan and Bill from Stage3)

Pacesetter longtubes (thanks to Ethan and Bill from Stage3motorsports who got me a great deal on em)

Pending purchases:

VT stage III blower cams (guy on M0dular F0rds)

Still need to buy:

Set of high lift Valve springs (for the larger cams)

Probably need one Windsor head (from the broken piston)

So if anybody knows where I may be able to get some of this stuff for a good price let me know.

unless your just getting a insanely killer deal on the cams (and even if you are) you should look into some custom grinds. They are basically the same price as a set of new "stage x" ones, but will be customised to your setup to make the most power.

$400 for the cams...

I probably will port the heads a little bit while they are off of the car. But I already know who is gonna do that so thats why I didn't put them up there

Bought the CHP shortblock. 5.1L stroker using Manley rods, Probe Pistons notched w/ low compression.

Plus a bump to see if anybody has any idea about any of the other stuff.

Screw that, your only 200 bucks away from a custom ground set that is brand new... custom ftw, espcially on a stroker motor.

If I were you I would look more into getting a more detailed set of ported heads. If you don't have the flow on the heads everything below it is kinda pointless.

+1 It's very important you get those heads opened up as much as possible. The stock 2v head flows most ****ty like. Even with a stage 3 ports job they still flow less than 300 which is really not that great. That's why I love the supercharger so much. If it doesn't want to go in there peacefully then make it go!
