Default Starting problems

I have a 2003 GT and every now and again it will hesitate to start it will just crank, sometimes it will take about 5 seconds to start. It usually only does it whenI have ran the car and whenI leave to go in say the gas station, and come back out, it will do it.. but not every time. And also whenI am at a stop lightI will sit and feel and listen andI can hear a slight mis-fire. I will even watch my tach andI can see it move down just a tiny bit and I can feel it. I run 91 octain andI have tried injection cleaner too, has anyone had the same problem or know whatI can do? Thanks in advance guys

My 03 gt does the same thing besides the mis-fire. Leaking injector maybe.

If it was a leaky injector wouldnt the check engine light come on? Is your car still doing it or did you fix the problem?

The re-start when hot problem is a very common thing.
Try turning your key to 'ON' and then put your seatbelt on, adjust the stereo, etc (IOW give it 5 seconds to build up fuel pressure)
and THEN crank the car.
That works for me every time.
As for why stangs seem to do this, I don't know.

The idle problem may or may not be related.
Clean your IAC and it should go away.
Sometimes what you think is a misfire is really the engine dying.

Oh yea!
That will most definitely do it!

I was trying to be optimistic because the pump is pretty reliable.
+1 on going for the Focus pump.
Much better unit.

Do I get the fuel pump for an 03 SVT focus? Or does the year not matter?
