Default Traction Control

I have a 2002 GT that I just bought. I have a couple quick questions I hope someone can answer. First did they make some kind of bullitt option this year? It has the bullitt wheels, pedals, shifter(shifter is some sort of short throw) and bullitt gas cap.

Also the traction control does not seem to help when you stab it about 3\4 pedal. Not sure what it is supposed to do..it just spins tires. I have heard this can be turned off via programmer flash. Just not sure what someone might have done already. I put 92 octane in and it runs great! This is my first mustang and I love it!! Something about a standard shift fuel injected V8. Also is it safe to switch the oil to mobile-1 synthetic 5-30?

Sorry for all the questions at once I am trying to learn more about my new GT!!

Thanks in advance!!

There wasn't a bullitt option, but it was available with the bullitt wheels. The gas tank door and shifter are probably just aftermarket.

The traction control is actually kind of advanced in the Mustang. It will allow you to spin the tires as long as the car is going straight, but as soon as the back end starts to creep out a little, it will catch it. Try getting it sideways around a corner and see if it turns on. Or push the button and see if the light on the button does anything. It could be unhooked.

And yes, switching to Mobil 1 is safe, and I would actually recommend it. I've been running it in all my cars for years and I don't seem to have the problems that others do when the miles get up there.

Thanks sidewayz4.6!! The light does come on when pushed. It has always been in a straight line when I have got the wheel spin. I'll have to try to get it sideways. I wish I knew who owned it before so I could ask him what he has done. Maybe he put all that aftermarket stuff on it then. My exhaust is way louder than stock and there is a K&N filter already there. It is hard to start modding when you don't know what the other guy done to it.

Thanks,

ok we get it about the racelogic traction system, no need to post the same thing 5 different times, good advertising idea for your company though

the bullit wheels come with the "premium" package as opposed to the "deluxe" the pedals are part of the interior upgrades package, unless they are aftermarket. is the plastic around your radio/middle vents shifter and your door lock oins silver, if so then you have the interior upgrades, it looks nice. i always turn traction control off. IMO it only slows you down, but is good in the rain.

mine does the same thing, but i know mine is off. we tuned it in the chip to automatically turn off on startup. i would guess that the bulb is burnt out.
