MSD COP's?

Default MSD COP's?

I was just wondering if anyone is running these on an n/a setup. I gotta think that a better/hotter spark has to show some improvement, even on an all motor setup. are they worth the cash?

i thought about doing them because at least once a week my shop replaces coils on mod motors so i figure they are inherently bad and mite as well catch a problem before it happens by replacing with high performance

+1 the way I see it, these motors arent powerhouses, so every little thing counts, even though the parts cost a lot....

They won't make any difference, the OEM coils are entirely competent until you get into very high comprerssion numbers...

competent until they go bad and they often do.

I've seen them go past 80,000 miles and fail at 10,000 but I've also gotten a few bad MSD coils also. They won't make any difference, theFactory pieces are pretty goodso I'd just use 'em til they go bad, good luck.

Approximately 50% of COP coils returned for warranty do not have a problem. The optional WDS Coil On Plug (COP) Kit available through Rotunda will provide more accurate diagnosis and help reduce replacement of non-defective parts. The WDS COP Kit (418-FS528) can be purchased through 1-800-ROTUNDA.
[/align][/align]This has been my experience too--it's quick and easy to blame the COP, and often a new one will work for a while until the underlying problem (primary circuit or defective/worn spark plug) worsens. Very often the new COP(s)gets installed along with new plugs which would have corrected the misfiring all be themselves. [/align][/align]Too many contemporary mechanics rely on parts swapping(at the owner's expense) and hoping they get lucky, than real diagnostic work.[/align][/align]Thetop killers of COPS are worn plugs which drive the firing voltage up and vibration from not being properly fastenend (I do blame the OEM design for this, and unfortunately aftermarket COP pretty much must use the samemickey mouse single tab mount).[/align]
