Take out all the pumps, plumbing, etc. I'm thinking years down the road when maybe some of the parts are harder to get. Is it possible to remove the plumbing etc. from a 99 - 04 convertible get all old school on it and manually operate it?

As far as I know there isn't a way yet, but I'm sure someone can fab up something. But in the end it'll cost you more to do that.

You could do it yeah I guess for weight savings but I'm not sure why you would. You have to get out of your car to put the top up.

your really not saving that much weight. Most of the convertibles extra weight comes from suspension mods

I was not considering it for the weight savings etc. I know you can get everything for a mustang, I rebuilt my 67 fastback around little more than a doorhinge and exhaust hanger.

I was simply wondering if it could be done. The catalyst for my thought was my friends 1969 Cumarrow convertible with a manual top. It is a thing of beauty that worked EVERY SINGLE TIME for the last 4 decades. It wouldn't bother me to have a manual top.Truth be told, I might actually prefer it.
