Default 4v parts

So i ran into a guy last night that is a big mustang fan and blew up his 97 cobra but has spare parts all over the place. He has a Teksid block with internals put together sitting in his garage and a pair of four valve heads and the timing chains and cover. So right now im trying to save for a set of cams and a typhoon intake manifold. Should I just buy the 4 valve stuff and try to eventually swap out my engine or do the cams and manifold? I already have some money wrapped in my car as well. I will keep you guys posted on this because I might just buy some stuff from the guy just to have. Im not about to try the 4 valve head swap. I know the block he has has a forged cobra crank and forged pistons dont remember what he said about the rods.

When he "blew it up" what did he break? You sound like the shortblock is still in good shape.

He's not going to put the built shorblock in there? Well, if not then I'd buy the built alum. shortblock and put my 2v heads on it. To do the 4v swap you will need new exhaust, wireing harness and all.

I didnt even think about putting my heads on it. But if i pull my heads off I should get them ported and polished and I already went down that road and thought that I could just sell my heads and put that money towards some patriot stage II's instead of paying to send mine out and have them done.

I put the patriots on mine. It costs the same to get a new set already ported with stainless steel valves and the high lift springs as it would to get all that done to your stock heads.
