Why wont she start?
Hey All,
I have a '00 GT, pretty much stock. I was pulling a small trailer and one of it'slight wires got grounded to the frame, and then my turn signals quit working, but everything else seemed fine and I drove it a couple days like this. So today I back out of my garage, check fuses. Number 13 (flasher) is blown, cool I'll get a replacement and I push it back in. Check number 18 fuse (also labeled "flasher) and it's good, push it back in... Now my car wont start! The battery cranks fine, but the motor doesn't even try to turn over. Cheated and gave 'er a little gas...nothing. Everything under the hood looks okay, tried remaking all the electrical plugs. She was just serviced a couple hundred miles ago (everything was fine) and has never given any trouble inthe 5yrs I've owned'er. I wouldn't think checking 2 fuses would have anything to do with the problem (?), but the timing is sure crazy! Any ideas?

Try disconnecting and re-connecting the battery. Might help. You said the battery is fine, so I don't know what else it could be, maybe the starter? Good luck man, sorry I couldn't be of more help.
check ALL of your fuses with a test light not just the ol' eyeball it and also turn the key to on but dont crank and listen outside the car for the fuel pump priming, also if you have a fuel pressure tester see if your getting fuel pressure as it sounds to me youve shorted out something on the fuel pump circuit.
I did check the fuel shut-off switch, it's good. The trailer has been removed and the car's been running fine (except the turn-sigs didn't work). And thereceiver was on there when I bought the car, but I may have added it anyway. It's very handy and you can't see it when not in use.
One of the few issues I've had with this car...Back in Feb '06 I had the throttle air bypass solenoid replaced due to rough idle at start-up and taking a few cranks to start. This same part failed and left me stranded in a '00 Focus. I wonder if this could be my issue? The replacement solenoid only has ~ 8k miles on it.
Well, thanks again y'all.
