AHHHH i got rear ended today, i was going to pick up my sister and bro form school and as i was turning form the lot this idiot in a 4 runner is honking for no reason at me, i turn and start drivin bout 25 cause there is lots of kids j walking, so this guy is mad and yells come on! and sticks his car right on my *** literally 1 meter away, so i speed up just a lil to escape a sure accident, he then goes into the emergency lane trying to cut me of!! he couldnt cause there was a car ahead in the lnae so he goes back behind me, then all of a sudden in fornt of me a old school bimmer tops and the person inside starts talking to his friend in another car, i hit the brakes (didnt slam them) going bout 24MPH and stop, when im fully stopped 1 second later BAM the idiot hits me going 30 MPH, we drive into the court and he starts yelling at me! im like why were u so close to me idiot, then his friend drives up in a accord and was like i am a witness and saw the whole thing,(big headache coming) he says i slammed on the brakes and that it was my fault (lamer), he was nehind the SUV the whole time! and i knew these kida last year when i graduated, so i say stfu u 2 are friends and that he should go f**k himself, and then he responds by saying i have never sen this kid before what are u talkin about? IM REALLY PIISSED at this point, the back bumper on my stang is scratched up and a fat dent, the fried then thretens to "kick my ***" and i tell him to f**k off and he mummbles something to his friend and drives off, i get the info and all, turns out he gave me a fake phone number, luckily i know where he lives cause hes my best friends neighbor, he doesnt know that, so here is going to be some hell to pay. ill try to post pics of the damge up <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

It is always the person behind you. They are suppose to maintian control of there car at all times. If you have to stop quick there should be enough distance behind you that they should hit you if you have to stop. If I were you I would go file a police report now to report the accident incase any recourse needs to be taken. You usually have seven days to file. Let the insurance company know to that you may be fileing a claim so that if you do in a monththey won't be surprised and you will have a police report to prove it. Better safe then sorry. </P>


BTW That sucks. I always worry about being rearended by people at every light. I watch them slow down behind me and inch forward if I think they are going to stop to close for comfort <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

Do the right thing, go file a police report, give them the information he gave you. Tell them about his whereabouts, yadda yadda and bam. Insurance adjuster will be out giving your car an inspection and off to the body shop she goes. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

 

im going to do exactrly that, i just regret not callin the cops at the accidnet scene, i was not thinking right i was kinda in shock, but dont worry the stang will be back.

There is NEVER a reason to follow close enough that you have no room to stop. Call the police right away, as well as your insurance company, and when you talk to the cops, tell them they threatened you as well. There will be consequences for that also.

 

yaa i wish i did call the cops, this guy egg'ed my friends house many times and threatened my friends dad once too, this is his 4th accident that hehas been in that has beenhis fault, i am gonna fill out a report though. well the insurence copany said that they are not gonna give the money and that the crash is "under investigation", i dont know whats goin on, maybe that idiot is sayin that it was not his fault or some BS like that, i have a witness to but she is only 15 so they are not taking her seriously.<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0">

 

Just take your car to your insurance agent. When they assess the damage and see your car was rearended, the controversy will be over. When you get rearended it is never your fault. It's an open and shut case. Your company will pay for the repairs and go after him and/or his insurance to pay them back. <IMG alt=Angry border=0 onclick="AddSmileyIcon'smileys/smiley7.gif'" src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"></P>


That is unless you have crappy insurance, then they may force you to wait, but usually you can push them. Take your car to a mechanic who will say its not drivable and get a free rental. They hate that and will usually start to move a little faster.</P>
