Default clutch Question

So before i did the IAC mod when i was shifting hard I would grind 2nd no matter how far i pushed the clutch in
did the mod and with the quicker rpm drop i dont grind at all
so obvioulsy its rpm related
does this mean my clutch is shot??? i pulled the pedal all the way towards me made absolutely no difference
new clutch time or what???
let me know fellas

Charlie

Yeah, join the club. My car's synchros are old and slow. If I shift to second too hard I very often grind for a second. It's worse when it's cold. You shouldn't be hard shifting a cold transmission anyway, but sometimes when I don't even shift that hard (I guess I'm decently fast when I'm not even trying anyway), it'll still happen.

Let me guess, you have T-45?

I shift alittle too quickly for the mustangs. The IAC mod helps, when i had it installed. I felt my shifts much smoother since my rpms was dropping faster.

If it isnt grinding anymore why do you need to rebuild the tranny? And I wouldnt suggest re-building the T-45 anyways... they are junk... at least upgrade to a 3650... otherwise i say drive it till it breaks! And you will know when your clutch is shot... you wont be able to shift at ALL!
