i was thinking instead of getting a supercharger, would it be possible to put a 98 or even 99 cobra engine w/ tranny in a 98 gt?

was that a statement? either way, supercharger is better because swapping stuff is almost never worth it, and in most cases you should just buy the thing you're swapping from (like a cobra in ur case)

yes i can get a brand new 98 cobra motor & tranny w/ no miles for 3,500. i can get a 99 cobra motor & tranny for 4-5 K. Why woudn't it be worth it? what are some of the downfalls of having a new engine? It would be far cheaper to put a 99 cobra motor in my car then to go spend 18 grand for a cobra, and plus insurance would be higher and the new style mustangs don't really do much for me.

you're on crack to prefer the SN95 over "New Edge" mustangs. its a lot of work to swap, but f**k, if u dont care, just yank it out and try yourself. you'll see.

personal preference, thats all. i think sn95 has a more classic look than the newer ones. but here is where i got the idea....... http://www.fastestmodulars.com/forum...a652a4395c3c17

You can go and put that older Cobra motor in your car, and still get a run for your money from a new 4.6 5 speed...

I think it would be better to simply rebuild what you have with some good parts and lay the hurt down!
