I was wondering what year the cobra had the most RWHP??? anyone know?

I've seen them dyno anywhere from 350-380 to the wheels stock.

 

ok giving that its making around 350-380 what would be the first upgrade to the motor that would improve it the most?

 

I don't own a cobra, but learned a bit from owners on this site and a couple others. They say that just changing the pulley netted them some ridiculous amount, like 50 to the wheels. After that exhaust frees em up nicely, and then intake, plus a tune, I hear cobras respond VERY NICE to mods.

'03's are by far and away the fastest year. Ford re-tuned the '04s b/s so much crap was breaking on the '03s. There is a 30-40hp difference. A stock '03 dynoe'd 400rwhp and 425 w/ a filter the other day.

Get an '03.

 

03 and 04 are the only stock cobra with a S/C right?

I read in MMFF somewhere that a stock 03/04 cobra crate motor with a 2001 cobra intake and no S/C made 350 HP on the crank dyno. That sounds good to me. Remember, the factory blower is only rated at 6-8psi with the stock pulley, which isn't that big of a deal. Now, after the pulley swap and a tune you are really using that blower to its potential and the car just screams........ Dont get me wrong, in stock trim it scoots too..

 

They also said running 11.7 psi on the stock eaton SC produced 572 HP and 533 torque. Thats with a simple pulley upgrade and Im not sure if they tuned it. Also those were crank dyno numbers. Not bad for a cheap mod.
