lol....ahahahahahahaa that was funny. They are Vacuum lines not coolant lines. Yes you need them hooked up, and no it wouldn't give yu more power if this were the case. Your waterpump would still be pumping the same no matter what and that's where your hp loss goes. Ohh and a cooler intake charge creates power, so if your buddy removed the lines he will lose hp because he will be putting hot air instead of cold denser air into his intake!..idiot...your friend
Actualy, The throttle body bypass is a favorite trick on 3rd gen L98 350ci engines. GM designed the coolant to run through those throttle bodies to prevent icing up in cold temps/climates. The thinking is that iif you live in a warmer climate, you can use the bypass, & that will give you a cooler air charge. Cooler denser air is better for your engine. I did the bypass on my `87 Corvette, it runs fine & I live on the east coast.:)

Yeah I realized that after I posted, but I'm not gonna go back and delete things!!! Just the fact that people think re-routing lines, removing air silencer, installing a short shifter, putting lower temp thermostats in are all going to give drastic increases in hp! It blows my mind.
Ohh that guy on the sh.tter is the funniest post I have seen yet!!!!![sm=icon_rofl.gif]

The 5.0 mustangs had the coolant lines going into the throttle body.
