Default Diff done?

How do you know if your diff is worn out? Do they wear out? I have Nitto 555R's on my car (which has about 70K on it) with all mods listed. It feels likethere are times when I get on the throttle, it sits for a second or two and then goes. It isn't hesitation or a miss, but like something is slipping. I checked the clutch and it seems fine. I don't know what else it could be. how can you check to see if the diff should be replaced?

you'll start to get a "one wheel peel" when it's starts going bad. I don't think the hesitation is in the diff.

70k with your mods make me suspect the clutch. the diff is either good or bad. the wheels will rotate, or somehting will be broken. the LS may give out, but you'll still have momentum (just one tire fire). hesitation cannot be due to the diff.

sounds like a combination of sticky tires and tired clutch. can you hold the brakes slightly with the clutch out in 1st and not bog the motor?

I did the old go in first, skip to fourth.

What are you describing to me Tylus? Just idle forward in 1st and step on the brake lightly? Or am i giving it gas while doing that?

while just idling in 1st gear going about 5 mph or so, step slightly on the brake. you should feel the motor bogging down. don't give it any gas. basically the car will be doing it's own thing and your just there to steer.

if the motor doesn't bog pretty much right away, it means your clutch is slipping. the 4.6 doesn't produce enough torque to overcome slight brake pressure like a truck can.
