Default HELP!!

I have a 97 Mustang GT with around 140k miles. At idle it seems to be misfiring (popping if you listen to exhaust). I replace plug wires last december(when i had the same problemwith more popping)and plugs are fine. Do the EDIS towers normally go bad? What else could this be, car runs extremely rich now.

could be a number of things with that amount of miles.if your ignition is good, then my first thought would be injectors. i would check those, maybe you have one or more dirty?

Does anyone know if the stock mustang coil packs last over 140k or do they die quicker?

^ ^ ^ ^ I agree. Mine has 120k and havent had any problems. It doesnt look like the previous owner has replaced the coil packs on mine. Your plug wires should be fine for under a year old. Have you checked the coil packs for voltage? I know there are a few companies that make aftermarket coil packs for our cars. I remember seeing MSD makes them too. They werent that expensive either.

I have one ford coil pack with 160k on it with no misfire. i did have one go at about 120k though. The running rich thing sounds like a MAF or oxygen sensor thing though. Any codes? usually the coil packs going bad throw a code or two.
