ok so i got the raptor shift light today in the mail. hooked it all up the green wire to the green wire with the white stripe the red to a power sorce and black to a ground. it went threw the test fine and took it out for a test run. got the car up to6500 and no light came on.i re did the tach wire thinking that was the problem tried a differnt connector and still nothing. any ideas? your supposed touse the green wire on thepcm in slot26.
well i hooked it to a dark green wire with white stripe. its supposed to be the light green with white stripe. fixed that. but the dark green with white got cut in half didnt fix it right away an now the light sits there and flickers on and off. still wont come on at set rpm. errrrrrrrr making me mad over here.
i thought you had to have it set for 8 cyl. but ill try it on 1 cyl. that would be weird if i have to have it set at 1 cyl.
it has to do with how the ECU tells the cylinders to fire. The raptor is expecting you (on 8 cylinder mode) to provide it with 8 pulses of voltage per revolution. The ECU is sending out a signal on the wire your tapped into only once per revolution... so the raptor never thinks your getting to the correct RPM.
