Default v8 swap

I currently have a 2004 V6 with a manual transmission. I want to put a v8 into it. Will the V6 tranny be compatibile with either the 5.0 or the 4.6 without modification? If not, what changes will I have to make to get it to work with either?

i do not think the tranny will mate up, but i could be wrong. You might have issues breaking parts of the drivetrain later if you stick with the 6 stuff. A 4.6 will fit in there easy and can be had with transmission and the other parts for pretty cheap.

i agree not worth the time. I wanted to do a swap on my 95 v6 for a 5.0 or a 4.6 then found out what went into it with the wireing, the computer, the tranny etc etc......couple months later sold the 95 and bought and 03 GT just easier to break down and get something new.

Just buy a GT FTW.. Sell the 3.8l and never look back.. You will have more then it is worth swapping motors, suspension mods, blah blah

i dont know, if you think about it your v6 mite be a good starting point. if you think about it alot of people with gts end up swaping stuff out anywayz, transmission blows get a tko, rear blows get a built 8.8 or 9 inch, shortblock cant handle the power get a new one. you mite be better off working with what you got, but if i were you i would at least put something worth swapping in there like a navigator motor or a mach motor.

^^^ yeah u've got a point. most ppl mod the cars anyways...i say just mod the V-6, and ive found 03 cobra motors w/ the tranny on the internet....forgot wht site...but it was for like 9K. i think that would be awesome. it came w/ all the wiring and everything! tht would be amazing!

The swap would be pointless unless you have loads of money to throw away. I would just trade for a gt or sell the v6. You will probably get more money selling your car privately instead of trading it.
