Something to keep in mind is that regular ol' Mustang struts and shocks are not built for supporting the car's full weight, just controlling and dampening suspension motion. The struts will probably be OK, however upper stud mounts and lower mounting rings of the rear shocks may cause problems. Also, I have seen many aftermarket CC plates that I wouldn't trust with coilovers... Mostly what I'm saying is it isn't an area where I'd try to do it on the cheap...

If you go 2" you will Need CC plates.. No questions...

Coilovers are the roughest ride, especially of you go cheap... Plus I am confused as to how they work on our cars.. I understand on a strut setup but on a coil spring setup what does the adjuster perch on???

The generic kits (and even the better ones) use various combinations of slip sleeves, spacers, and perch like thingys to get the strut/shock to hold the car up--the better kits include alternative lower brackets for the rear. What bothers me the most about coilover kits made to work with OEM like shocks is this:The whole back end of my car being held up in the air by 4 (2 on each side) piddly little welds that were never intended to support the weight of the vehicle...

yea... how about no, if your gonna go with a coil over setup look into the ones that have been open track tested and proven as they will be able to take the harshest of driving conditions. While those, look like they just relocate the spring, and rest it right onto your mounts. Stronger struts/shocks have failed with a better engineered kit, this one is most likely gonna cause ya to lose some hair.

If your not gonna roadrace/spirited driving and looking for a drop, go get yourself some springs and a nice set of shocks/struts. The only experience I have had with coilovers is a friend of mine has a griggs coilover setup while I have a mm setup, both were straight forward with the install and the griggs setup is a bit more nicer to look at (exterior appearance)
