Will a Tremec 3550 work in a 2000GT?
I've been looking for a deal on a TKO-500, but stumbled onto a great deal on a Tremec 3550. Will the 3550 work on a 2000GT 4.6 with the proper bellhousing? The guywho has it says its for a 87-93 model(??) Also,I understand that the TKO-500 is the replacement for the 3550. What's the big improvement? Any? The 3550 is supposed to take 500 lb/ft of torque I think. Thanks.

The TR-3550 is only rated for 350 ft-lbs of torque. Stick with the 3650 or go with the TKO.

OK. Been searching websites tonight and have decided I need to go with the TKO-500 for my torque. So, I guess I don't need to know whether the 3550 will work. THANKS EVERYBODY!

Just an FYI the 3550 and the 3650 are pretty close in design. Supposedly the 3550/3650's internals are much stonger than the T-45's. I think Nanaki had his 3650 crap out only after putting damn near 600 hp through it. But the TKO is even better.
