Default Steering Problems

I recentally installed BBK LT's and when I did i had some steering shaft contact/clearance issues. So i did the broomstick trick and I extended my steering shaft about 1/2" and that fixed most of it now I have about 1/2 inch of clearance from the headers (when parked).

My problem now is when I am braking and making a right turn at maybe 20 mph it feels like my steering saft is getting stuck or clunking (its sharp increse in resistance) but not like the clunky feeling i had when the steering shaft was making contact with the lt's.

Anyone else ever had this problem. Any suggustions.

Default RE: Steering Problems

i had this problem when i installed my LTs and to allow the shaft to clear the headers i put a 1/8" thick metal "shimmy" under the motor mount which raised up the motor. The shaft then cleared the pipes just fine.
