getting over 150 mph
It depends on the final gear in your transmission and the gear in your rear end, and the diameter of your tires. Lower your gear ratio in your rear end, you will get a higher top end. But lag at low speeds. Also the same principal for the gears in your transmission.
actually, believe it or not most people get to top speed in 4th gear instead of 5th simply because 5th doesn't have quite enough torque, so gearing up (numerically down) may actually harm top speed. I may be wrong though
If you know the RPM, the gear ratio and the tire diameter, you can figure the vehicle speed, or mph, by using the following formula:
MPH= (RPM x Tire Diameter) / (Rear End Gear Ratio x 336)
To Figure out the gear ratio needed for a certain speed:
Gear Ratio= (RPM x Tire Diameter) / (MPH x 336)
MPH= (RPM x Tire Diameter) / (Rear End Gear Ratio x 336)
To Figure out the gear ratio needed for a certain speed:
Gear Ratio= (RPM x Tire Diameter) / (MPH x 336)
155??? with 4.10's.. Didn't know that was possible. I got mine to 136... prolly woulda gone a few more mph but i stopped, the vert top was fluttering like crazy and I thought it might fly away without me.
yea stangs arent really built for the high speeds, kinda scarey really i got to about 145 and decided i was done casue you can feel everything gettin lighter. Your a grease spot on the road if anything goes worong at those speeds.
