Does anyone know about how much horsepower and torquethe internals of astock 2V4.6L in a 2002 Mustang GT can safelyhandle?

 

380-400 rwhp

 

yeah pretty much anything over 400rwhp is a ticking time bomb....some last for a long time w/ that much power, but some can blow a week after getting it.....depends on the tune and how ya drive it i guess

 

use the search this has been answered about 1000 times but the safe mark is right around 400 andthing much over that and its not gonna last to long

 

There are plenty of folks running over 400rwhp with no issues, tune helps! 450rwhp is the max

 

+1.... If it's a daily driver I would stay around 400 to be safe.. but 450 is the max for sure.. and even that is just asking for something to break.

 

dont go over 400 rwhp... i know this from first hand experience... even if your tune is dead on, its gonna pop eventually (*puts on flame suit*) if you plan on building the engine eventually, then by all means run 420rwhp it should last a while

 

There are people running well over 500rwhp/tq on a stock block. I think its in modularpowerhouse, just make sure the tuner knows their stuff.

 

You know as well as I, that ain't gonna last on stock powder-metal rods

 

The block itself is strong, not the stock internals
