Headlight harness

Headlight harness
Read first: Though interested in HID's I cannot get them... many many evil cops that will write their own mothers tickets around here. The firefighter thing can only get me out of so many tickets.
Has anybody upgraded their headlight harness to a heavy gauge wire? I have an F-250 and a lot of us guys on thedieselstop.com have purchased harnesses like this one http://gosracing.com/inc/sdetail/1983 . Results in much brighter lights due to full voltage getting to headlights. By the time the power gets to the headlights on our trucks its gone through like 20 feet of tiny wire. The increased voltage really wakes up aftermarket bulbs such as Silverstars etc. They usually have heavier plugs/sockets/whatever-you-wanna-call-them which hold up better than the factory ones with hotter, higher wattage bulbs. Anyway they are pretty plug & play... heavy wire w/ fuses which goes to two relays whch are triggered by a factory harness being plugged into a 9007 female. Then the power from the battery goes to the relays then goes directly to the headlights over the heavy wire, bypassing the factory switch route.
Anyway... I do not have a wiring diagram of this car yet so just wondering if knows if the supplemental wire/harness would help us out much.

RE: Headlight harness
the cops around here will pull you over for stuff like piaa's if they deem them too bright... i just don't want to spend money on HIDs and have to get rid of them.
i was just thinking it was probably a similar setup as the truck as ford uses the same switches and stuff in everything. i am not arguing that HIDs are badass... i know this. just trying to make the best with stock housing & bulb type.
