gears?
Is there an easier way of telling what gears are in my car? I bought my car used, and i have driven friend's mustangs that are the same year. I know that their gears are stock but my car will be at different speeds at different rpms. Or do i need to take it somewhere to get it looked at? One more question: if they are aftermarket gears, which ones would have me at 3500 rpms in 3rd going 60 - 65 mph?

RE: gears?
Well, they say you can jack it up and turn the tires and count how many rotations the driveshaft make compared to how many rounds the tires make or something to that effect. Ive never done it. I can tell you that if you have 4.10's you will be doing 2400 rpms in fifth gear at 70 mph.

I might be right at 2000 rpms in 5th gear going 70. Does that sound likely? I'm gonna try all these variations on my lunch break, so i will post in a few hours. Thanks guys.

You have 3.27's if you're doing 1900-2000 rpms @ 70mph in 5th gear then. I do remember those days.
