Default E-brake problem

Hello guys. I'm working on my buddies 01 GT. We are changing all his brakes. I got the padson the rear drivers side caliper after getting a special tool. But now I'm stuck. I disconnected the e-brake line in order to get the bottom bolt for the caliper back in but now cant get the ebrake back together. Any tips or suggestions for getting the spring and cable connected back up? Thanks for the help.

I took a pair channel locks and use the bolt that the springs is connect to and used it the pull the lever back. Then used a pair of needle nose pliers to put cable into place.

Thanks guys. I will give that a try in the morning. Once you got the cable in place how did you get the spring on. Any tips for that? Thanks.

It has been awhile since i did it but i wanna say that i put the spring on first. I think i just used a big pair of channel locks and compressed the spring.

i compressed the spring in a vise then wrapped 4 zip ties around it to keep it compressed then got the cable back on and carefully put the spring into place. then cut the ties when the spring was in place.

Thanks all for the help. Got her back together this morning with no big trouble after your hint and tricks. It must be the dumbest design I have ever seen. You have to take apart the ebrake just to get one bolt back in. What dumb engineer made that needs to be fired.

I just grabbed the end of the ebrake line with a pair of pliers and pulled it till it went around the little hook lol. Busted my hand a little when it slipped the first time but then I got it. Just took a little elbow grease.
