Default Stroker kit?

Does anyone know where you can find a forged stroker kit for a 1997 mustang gt 4.6L? Not to expensive though.

thats gonna be the problem, IMO you wont gain enough to justify spending the 2k+ shop work on the kit, instead try a head cam swap, that should net you more gains than a stroker kit will. the stroker will only give you a small to moderate low end gain, but the head/ cam will give you that + some

this is just one website, im going on lunch, so ill post more when i get back.

stroker kits don't help the modular motors out like they do with pushrod oldschool motors. Apples and oranges. Your having a hrad time finding a kit because nobody goes that route because it's really a waste of money

Well the only reason i wanted to get a stroker is because my pistons and roads are starting to wear down and if i have to replace all of that why not just buy a stroker kit. I plan on doing stage 2 patriot heads, stage 2 cams, and a supercharger. (and a stroker kit to redo the crank, pistons etc.)

coming from someone who has a stroker kit....save your money

I bought a vt 302 stroker shortblock and I think the difference between that and just a regular forged 4.6 shortblock was around a grand

its cool and all to say you have a 302 modular....but really...that extra grand can be spent a lot better elsewhere....like a fuel system to support your heads/cams/supercharger to its max potential[:@]and not just limpin around on a super-conservative tune and low boost.

i'm not bitter or anything....haha

Well i have to redo all the internals anyways cause they are going bad. So shouldn't i just throw in a stroker kit since i have to. Its not that i want to do it, but i need to.

looking on the cost effective route no, you can forge your motor for around 1.5k (i think). just forge it and upgrade fuel system and save for the S/c thats where you'll see the most gains.

it all depends, from just the forging you wont notice anything, thats just to make it stronger for the next step in the race. again you will see minimal gains from fuel system IE: unnoticeable, the supercharger you will see tremendous gains depending on the type and how much boost you are running, and then once the SC is on get it tuned and bam there's about a 25 rwhp 10rwtq gain.
