mines doing the same thing... its the cluch packs in the diff they are burned out and it needs to be rebuilt. you might try to have the diff drained and refilled this might stop it for now but it needs to be rebuilt.

Just have the rear rebuilt and throw some gears in there. You could get a new differential, but the stock one is fine for most people.

28 spline is stock... if you have big plans for this car get a 31 spline setup. hell.. get some axles for it while your at it and some slicks for the track.

i guess u guys r right. since i have a reason to work on my differential i might as well get a 31 spline setup along wit axles, gears and a girdle cover. so what kind of differential should i get ? americanmuscle has a eaton LSD 31 spline wit carbon fiber clutch packs, would this outta do it or r there others out there for less $ ?

Might I speak up and highly reccomend a Detroit TruTrac. They are worm gears that never wear out and need no aditives! Super quite and allow for easy cornering. They run about $450-$500 depending where you buy it from. If you wanted to get what you have but simply upgrade to the 31 splin, you can buy the Ford Traclok for $280 brand spankin new with the upgraded carbon fiber clutch discs. They are a waste of time to have them rebuilt. Also, they are a pain to rebuild. I would first try to add roughly a half tube of friction modifier to your diff before you do this whole project. By ading extra modifier, this will make the discs very grabby and will tell how worn they are. If you notice zero diff, then they are trashed. Just remember friction modifier is no good for bearings and seals, that's why I'm a big fan of the Detroit TruTrac

I upgraded mine, any diff from a Ford f-150 will work u still got to buy axles tho. but you can pick up a used f-150 diff for cheap and is the exact same thing. as for clutch packs i paid 80$ for them off the american muscle website. cheap and easy rebuild.
